Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence: DEPSA

Directory of European Postgraduate Studies in Australia
(DEPSA)

DEPSA is an initiative of the Contemporary Europe Research Centre at the University of Melbourne. This Directory is one of CERC’s Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence projects.
The purpose of DEPSA is to allow students, academics, and others, to see just what postgraduate research relevant to Europe is being undertaken by students in Australia.

The DEPSA project aims to create a library of web pages for individual Australian postgrads dedicated to publicising the work they are doing. Through this DEPSA seeks to:

(a) allow postgraduates to see what others in the field are doing and make contact where it is useful;

(b) allow postgraduates to develop a profile from the moment their research begins;

(c) allow senior academics and others to capture a picture of where the up and coming research is and who the researchers are.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Any postgraduate enrolled at an Australian institution who is completing thesis research on an aspect of Europe. This includes individual countries and themes. Students from any field are welcome from Law through Economics to Political Science, History, Sociology, Literature, Cultural Studies even to Medicine and Engineering if the research focus pertains to Europe.

HOW DO I JOIN DEPSA?

At this stage of the project we are collecting information. Each postgraduate student will have their own page based on the DEPSA form they have filled in.

Information can be updated later by simply re-submitting the form. Confirmation will be sought after the form arrives at CERC.

Students choosing not to have their email available on the Directory can be contacted via an email to CERC, which will be forwarded to them. Whether they reply is then a matter for them.

As the pages are posted visitors to DEPSA will be able to search the site by any words they choose to enter, enabling dynamic searching on any variables to take place.

You can fill in one of two forms

The DEPSA form pdf version may require Acrobat Reader 7 or above to use successfuly. This form allows you to send the data about yourself directly to us via email.

The DEPSA form rtf version should be downloaded, filled in and saved with a filename that includes your name and then emailed back to us as an attachement. It should be mailed to cerc@cerc.unimelb

Questions about DEPSA should also be directed to cerc@cerc.unimelb.edu.au
