CERC Conferences 2008
The workshop will look at the EU as a global actor; Australian - EU relations in the 21st century; and European Studies in Australia.
This major conference will be examining the EU’s external relations and objectives with Asia-Pacific. Academics from Europe, Asia, Australia and the United States are expected. This conference is part of major collaborative research project being undertaken by CERC and supported by a Jean Monnet research activity grant.
CERC Conferences 2007
CERC's 2007 postgraduate conference is being held on Wednesday 5 December and is entitled The Worlds of Europe and Europe in the World. The conference is open to Australian and New Zealand postgraduates. Limited assistance with travel costs is available for students outside the state of Victoria.

CERC is a chief sponsor and partner of this major international conference to be hosted by the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University. The other Australian partners are the Centre for Dialogue at La Trobe University (principle organiser) and the Innovative Universities European Union Centre.
Other academic insitutions backing the conference are: Università degli Studi di Napoli “L'Orientale”, Naples, Italy; The Institute for Social Ethics, Nanzan University, Nagoya, Japan; The Institute of International Relations, Warsaw University, Poland; The Cold War Studies Centre, London School of Economics.

This half day public workshop brings together Australian academics in the field of European Studies to discuss various aspects of how the area is taught in Australia.

The conference was hosted jointly by the University of Melbourne and Monash University.

This conference is the premier event for scholars in the Australasian region working in this field. This year over 50 papers were given including from international guests.
