Accommodation around CERCAccommodation listings on this page are a guide for short term visitors to CERC, whether for conferences or for short periods of research. CERC does not as a rule organise accommodation and those planning a stay should contact the places directly. All are within walking distance of CERC but some are closer than others. If you find accommodation a bit further away CERC is a very short walk from tram stops on Swanston St and Elizabeth St. These are major streets running north from the city. Elizabeth st trams continue north from the city up Royal Pde and some also run down Flemington Rd. The nearest train station is Melbourne Central, about a 25 minute walk from CERC, but trams run directly past it to CERC.
DownTowner on Lygon. Located between Melbourne's CBD and the vibrant cafe and fashion precinct of Carlton, it is a 5-10 minute walk from CERC. Rydges on Swanston 701 Swanston St, Carlton, Located on the fringe of Melbourne's CBD and only a five minute walk. For reservations please email the Reservations Manager and request the Melbourne University rate.
Graduate House Located on the northern main campus side of CERC it is under 5 minutes walk. It offers standard rooms and both short and long term accomodation The Ibis Hotel Melbourne Provides both rooms and self contained units. On the city side of CERC and about a 5-10 minute walk away. Located south east of CERC about 10 minutes walk away. Offers both hotel and student accomodation.
