Mme Odile Quintin is the European Union’s top education official. She has been Director General for Education and Culture within the European Commission since 2006. With the Commissioner for Education, Training and Youth, Ján Figeĺ, she has responsibility for EU policies on education, training, youth, culture, sport and citizenship. In this role, she has played a major part in increasing the recognition of these fields at Community level. Within the portfolio of Commissioner Leonard Orban, she also has responsibility for policy on multilingualism.
This event is co-hosted by the European Commission Delegation to Australia.
The Lecture is free and open to the public, and will be followed by a reception.
