presented by
Annick Cable
Abstract
Normative power is a recently developed concept within the discourse of the EU's role and potential in external relations. What differentiates normative power from other paradigms of power? How is it articulated in EU policy? What does the concept of normative power contribute to the understanding of the EU’s external identity as a ‘global actor’? How do these concepts interact? And what does a militarised agenda mean for such concepts?
