Biography

Simon Duffin has a long and distinguished history within the European Parliament’s organisational wing as well as working with political actors in the UK. Since 2002 he has been head of press for the European Parliament in the UK. In this role he is responsible for the Parliament’s relations with all sections of the UK media, and charged with raising public awareness of its activities. Previously he occupied an executive role in the UK Equal Opportunities Commission and before that was on the Committee secretariat European Parliament serving the Women's Rights Committee (1995-98) and Employment & Social Affairs Committee (1998-2001). His recent experience leaves him well placed to essay the understandings and attitudes towards the European Union amongst the British public and press.
