Biography

François Descoueyte has degrees in law and political science and has had a long and distinguished career in the French foreign ministry. Among his appointments he has been Deputy Director charge of western Europe at the Bureau of European affairs, and was Head of International Affairs in the French Planning Commission. His most recent diplomatic posting was as French ambassador to Korea, from 2001 to 2005.
