Ignacio Garcia Bercero

Ignacio Garcia Bercero, European Commission, Director, DG Trade, in the area of development and management of trade relations with neighbourhood Countries and with South-East Asia. Bilateral trade relations I (CIS, Balkans, Mediteranean countries and South and South-East Asia). Prior to this appointment he was Head of Unit, DG Trade.F.2 WTO Dispute Settlement and Trade Barriers Regulation

Ralph Pettman

Ralph Pettman is the Director of the Master of International Politics program at the University of Melbourne. Before that he held the foundation Chair of International Relations at the Victoria University of Wellington for more than a decade. A graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science, his previous appointments include teaching and research appointments at the University of Tokyo and the Australian National University, teaching positions at Princeton University and the University of Sydney, and research appointments at Cambridge University, the New School for Social Research, LSE, and the Frankfurt Peace Research Institute. He has held administrative posts with the Australian International Development Assistance Bureau, the Australian Human Rights Commission, and the Australian Broadcasting Commission. His most recent book is Reason. Culture, Religion. The Metaphysics of World Politics (2004). He recently completed a work on Intending the World.

Dr Pradeep Taneja

Dr Pradeep Taneja joined the Department of Political Science at the University of Melbourne in January this year. Earlier, he was a Senior Lecturer in the Graduate School of Management at La Trobe University. He has also worked as a consultant for AusAID in China.

Derek McDougall

Derek McDougall is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, University of Melbourne. His area of interest is Asia-Pacific international politics with particular reference to Australian engagement. Recent publications include Australian Security After 9/11 (Ashgate, 2006) (co-editor) and Asia Pacific in World Politics (Lynne Rienner Publishers, 2006).
