Associate Professor Murray is Director of CERC and Head of CERC's Research Unit on the European Union (RUEU). She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Melbourne and holds a Jean Monnet Chair from the European Union. In July 2006 the European Commission also awarded A/Prof Murray a Jean Monnet Chair ad personam.

In 2007 she joined the editorial board of the Asia-Pacific Journal of EU Studies

Associate Professor Murray is also the joint Convenor of the Arts Faculty's undergraduate European Studies program.

Her main areas of expertise and current research interest are EU-Australia relations, and problems of EU polity and governance.
