completed her PhD in August 2004 at the University of Melbourne (Parkville), in the department of Political Science and under the supervision of Professor Leslie Holmes. Since graduating, she has worked as a Research Fellow at Deakin University (Burwood) in the Centre for Citizenship and Human Rights (CCHR) – where she conducted research in the areas of social exclusion, racism against Arab and Muslim diasporas and civil society – and held a post as a Visiting Fellow at the National Europe Centre (NEC) in the Australian National University (ANU). Carol has also been on the executive of the Contemporary European Studies Association of Australia (CESAA), at one point as Vice-President.

After time working as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University, where she taught in Comparative Politics and International Conflict and Cooperation, she is currrently Assistant Professor in Political Science at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
