Gabriele Orcalli is a Professor in the economics of European integration at the University of Padua (Italy).

His major recent publications include a constitutional analysis of the GATT/WTO (2000); Integraciyn econymica y papel internacional de las regiones: la cooperaciyn transfronteriza (2000); EC agricultural policy: some recent developments (1999); the social clause in international trade agreements (1998); and dumping, anti-dumping and competition policy (1996).

His current research interests are international trade and international trade agreements; the relationship between trade and migration in regional trade agreements; and the constitutional analysis of EU integration.

Professor Orcalli is the former Director of the postgraduate course on EU economics and law at the University of Padua. He has acted as coordinator of an international university network under the EC ALFA program. He is a member of numerous economists' associations.
